In prokaryotes (bacteria, BGA, mycoplasma) the DNA is double stranded and circular. The DNA lacks histone proteins but contains some other basic proteins. The DNA of bacteria is regarded as single chromosome. Double stranded and linear DNA is found in eukaryotic cell. It is bounded by histone proteins to form nuclebsome. Double stranded RNA as nucleic acid is found in viruses.
