Different timing of maturation of stamen and carpel of a bisexual flower is called dichogamy. If stamen matures first than it is called protoandry and if carpel matures first it is called protogyny. Homogamy is the same timing of maturation of stamen and carpel. Herkogamy is the presence of mechanical barrier between stamen and carpel which prevents self pollination.
