Solution:

Kingdom Monera was first established by Copeland in the year 1956, where he included all the acellular prokaryotes, which comprised of an incipient nucleus, like bacteria and blue-green algae. The term 'Monera' was introduced by Dougherty, while Copeland used the term 'mycota'.
Monerans are unicellular organisms, which do not possess membrane-bound organelles. The DNA is naked and is not bound by a nuclear membrane. They consist of 70S ribosomes and lacks all the organelles. They reproduce asexually via binary fission or budding. For locomotion, they have flagella which protrude from the peptidoglycan-rich cell wall. They also show various modes of nutrition, like autotrophic, holozoic, parasitic, etc.
