Solution:

PhotochemicaI smog ( or Los Angeles type smog) is formed in the presence of sunlight when soot particles, hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen are present in the atmosphere. Due to the presence of oxides of nitrogen and ozone it is oxidising in nature.
