Solution:

During the process of digestion and absorption water acts in supporting the salt balance for smoother process. In jejunum and ileum water is reabsorbed before passing it to the large intestine. In the colon water is further resorbed making the undigested food more viscous. After required absorption of water, the undigested food is given out as faeces where there is no reabsorption of water.
