Solution:

Ozone can be tested by Hg (mercury).
$2 Hg + O _{3} \rightarrow \underset{\text { mercurous oxide}}{ Hg _{2} O }+ O _{2}$
During this reaction mercury loses its meniscus and starts sticking to the side of the glass. This is known as tailing of mercury.
