Q. Ontogeny Recapitulates Phylogeny is narrated in which of the evidences for organic evolution?

J & K CETJ & K CET 2009

Solution:

Ernst Haeckel $(1866)$ proposed recapitulation theory or biogenetic law which states that ontogeny (development of the embryo) is recapitulation of phylogeny (the ancestral sequence). It is narrated in the embryological evidences for organic evolution, eg, homology in early embryonic development of all multicellular organisms, resemblance among vertebrate embryos, etc.
