Q. One mole of potassium chlorate is thermally decomposed and excess of aluminium is burnt in the gaseous product. How many moles of aluminium oxide are formed ?

Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

$2 KClO_{3}\to 2KCl+3O_{2}$
$4Al+3O_{2}\to 2Al_{2}O_{3}$
$2$ moles of $KClO_{3}$ gives $2$ moles of $Al_{2}O_{3}$
$\therefore $ $1$ mol of $KCIO_{3}$ gives 1 mol of $Al_{2}O_{3}$
