Physical World, Units and Measurements

Solution:

The value of $1$ division of main scale $=\frac{1}{10}= 0.1 \,cm $
The value of $1$ division of vernier scale $=\frac{8 \times 0.1}{10}=0.08 cm$
Thus L.C. $=0.1-0.08=0.02\, cm$
