Q. On heating, lead nitrate forms oxides of nitrogen and lead. The oxides formed are__________ .

The p-Block Elements - Part2

Solution:

Lead nitrate on heating it decomposes to lead monoxide $( PbP )$, nitrogen dioxide $\left( NO _{2}\right)$ and oxygen $\left( O _{2}\right)$.

$2 Pb \left( NO _{3}\right)_{2} \rightarrow 2 PbO +4 NO _{2}+ O _{2}$

Hence option $B$ is correct.
