J & K CETJ & K CET 2012Photosynthesis in Higher Plants

Solution:

Non-cyclic photophosphorylation is the major pathway of light reaction of photosynthesis. It requires participation of both PS-I and PS-II. It involves photolysis of water, formation of assimilatory power ATP and $NADPH _{2}$ and liberation of $O _{2}$. Cyclic photophosphorylation includes only PS-I and involve ATP formation only.
