Solution:

Nepenthes is both primary producer and consumer. Nepenthes or pitcher plant is a insectivorous plant. These are the plants, which can synthesize their food (they are green) and, hence, they are autotrophs from this point of view. However, they cannot take their nitrogen from soil as they grow in water logged swampy soils deficient in nitrogenous compounds. Such plants obtain their nitrogen from small insects and are called insectivorous plants. Thus, the plants are partly heterotrophs.
