Solution:

In apoplast pathway, the water passes from root hair to xylem through the cell walls of intervening cell without crossing any membrane or cytoplasm. In symplast pathway, water passes from cell to cell through plasmodesmata. Tonoplast is the wall of vacuoles of plant cell.
