Q. Mouth develops first in the embryo and anus is formed later. It is called

AMUAMU 2003

Solution:

Protostomes show spiral cleavage and their blastopore become the mouth of the adult. This pattern of development is observed in annelids, molluscs and arthropods. Deuterostomes show radial cleavage and their blastopore become the anus of the adult. The echinoderms and chordates show the pattern of development. In this, mouth is formed away from blastopore.
