Solution:

Opium is the dried latex obtained from unripe capsules of Papaver somniferum (poppy). Morphine, codeine are the alkolids formed from the dried latex and have the pain reliveing property. Tannins are the astringent, acidic substances used in the preparation of dyes, inks and leather. They are obtained from Acacia nilotica, Caesalpinia etc. Pome is type of simple fleshy fruit developed from inferior, two or more celled ovary. The fruit is covered by the fleshy thalamus, fused with pericarp and is edible. Pyrus indica (apple) is the common example of pome.
