$Na , K , Mg$ and Ca are vital elements. Their ions are present in biological (body) fluids. $Na ^{+}$and $Ca ^{2+}$ ions are present mainly in extracellular region (outside the cell). On the other hand, $K ^{+}$and $Mg ^{2+}$ ions are found inside the animal cells.
