Hemichordata share characteristics with both Echinodermata and Chordata. They represent an evolutionary link between the Echinodermata and Chordata. Hemichordata was earlier considered as a sub-phylum under phylum-Chordata. But, now it is placed as a separate phylum under Non-chordata.
