Solution:

Meristematic cells have an active nucleus and prominent protoplasm which provide them the ability of active cell division.. Due to which, these cells are found in the regions where active cell division i.e., formation of new cells is taken place e.g., shoot or root apex. Intercellular spaces, occasionally do not occur between these cells.
