Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables

Solution:

Given:
$ 9 x+3 y=66 $...(i)
$ 8 x+2 y=56$....(ii)
Multiply equations (i) with 2 and (ii) with 3 and subtract
image
From (i) $9(6)+3 y=66$
$\Rightarrow 3 y=66-54=12 $
$ \Rightarrow y=4$
$ x^2-4=(6)^2-4=32 $
$y^2+2=(4)^2+2=18$
$x^2-y^2=6^2-4^2=36-16=20 $
$ x^2+y=(6)^2+4=40$
