Q. Mass of acetic acid required to neutralize 100 cc of 0.1 N NaOH solution is

COMEDKCOMEDK 2008Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

For neutralization, no. of gram equivalents of acid should be equal to no. of gram equivalents of base.
No. of gram equivalents of NaOH
$ = \frac{100 \times 0.1}{1000} = 0.01$
Now, $ \frac{w}{eq.mass\, of\, acid}= 0.01$
$w = 60 \times 0.01 = 0.6 g$
