NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020

Solution:

The mangrove plants are grown in the saline water of Sundarbans and this is the area that is formed by the confluence of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers in the Bay of Bengal. The name Sundarbans is derived from sundri or sundari (Heritiera fomes), the common name of the large mangrove trees that are present in plenty in this area. Sunderbans is the largest halophytic mangrove forest in the world, with the plants having pneumatophores (respiratory roots) as the morphological adaptation in the plants for respiration.
