Q. Liquids $A$ and $B$ are at $30 \,{}^\circ C$ and $20 \,{}^\circ C$ respectively. When mixed in equal masses, the temperature of the mixture is found to be $26 \,{}^\circ C$ . Their specific heats are in the ratio of

Solution:

According to principle of calorimetry,
Heat given = Heat taken
$\Rightarrow ms_{A}\left(30 - t\right)=ms_{B}\left(t - 20\right)$
$\Rightarrow \frac{s_{A}}{s_{B}}=\frac{6}{4}=\frac{3}{2}$
