Solution:

If the angle of contact $\theta$ is acute (i.e., $\theta <\,90^{\circ})$, liquid will rise in a capillary tube. If the angle of contact $\theta$ is obtuse (i.e., $\theta >\,90^{\circ})$, liquid will fall in a capillary tube
