Light waves are transverse in nature having both an electric and magnetic component. It is because of this transverse nature that. it is possible to transform unpolarized light into polarized light because polarised light waves are waves in which vibrations occur in a single plane. Hence, light waves can be polarised as they are transverse in nature.
