Q. Length $v/s$ Temperature graph of $A$ and $B$ is given below. Find the relation between $\alpha _{A}$ and $\alpha _{B}.$

Solution:

$\Delta L=L \propto \Delta T$
slope $\Rightarrow \frac{\Delta L}{\Delta T}=L\alpha $
$\left(Slope\right)_{A} < \left(Slope\right)_{B};L_{A}\left(\alpha \right)_{A} < L_{B}$
$\because L_{A}=L_{B}$ therefore $\therefore \left(\left(\alpha \right)_{A} < \left(\alpha \right)_{B}\right)$
