Q. Kinetic energy of an electron in the first Bohrs orbit of the hydrogen atom is :

Uttarkhand PMTUttarkhand PMT 2005

Solution:

As it is clear that the kinetic energy of electron in the first Bohr orbit of the hydrogen atom is given by
$K=-\frac{13.6}{n^{2}}$
$=-\frac{13.6}{(1)^{2}}=-13.6\, e V$
