Q. $'K'$ is Henry’s constant and has the unit

MHT CETMHT CET 2019

Solution:

According to Henry's "the partial pressure of the gas in vapour phase $(p)$ is proportional to the mole fraction of the gas $(\chi)$ in the solution". It is expressed as

$p \propto \chi \text { or } p=K_{H} X$

where, $K_{ H }=$ Henry's law constant Its unit is $M \mid$ atm or $m o l d m^{-3} a t m^{-1}$.
