Q. Intracellular space is divided into two distinct compartments, i.e., luminal and extraluminal in:

Solution:

The network of tiny tubular structures is scattered in the cytoplasm of the eukaryotic cell. This network is called the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). This ER divides the intracellular space into luminal (inside the reticulum) and extraluminal (in the cytoplasm) compartments. If the reticulum has ribosomes on their surface, they are called rough endoplasmic reticulum and if no ribosomes are present then they are known as the smooth endoplasmic reticulum.
