Solution:

Intercalary meristems are present beneath apical meristem and is responsible for increase in diameters of plants organs. It is a meristem which is present between mature tissues , at the base of nodes and internode, and leaf baldes. It is the tissue which help in regrowth of grasses , which are damaged by grazing herbivores.
