NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020
Solution:
The nerve cord of the central nervous system of cockroach consists of nine segmental ganglia. Three of these are present in the thorax whereas six segmental ganglia are present in the abdomen of the cockroach. The six segmental ganglia are distributed in such a way that the last ganglion is situated in the seventh segment of the abdomen, as no segmental ganglion is found in the 5th abdominal segment. All the segmental ganglia are formed via the fusion of one pair of ganglia whereas the last ganglion is formed by the fusion of many ganglia.
