Solution:

A process of nuclear reorganization in Paramecium aurelia resembling conjugation but taking place within asingle individual is called as autogamy or self conjugation by W.F. Diller $(1936)$. Cytogamy is reported in Paramecium caudatum by R. Wichterman $(1940)$. This is a sexual process without nuclear exchange.
