Legume or pod fruits and siliqua fruits can be dehisced through dorsal and ventral sutures. Legume is developed from a monocarpellary, one-chambered and superior ovary, eg, pea while siliqua develops from a bicarpellary, syncarpous and superior ovary, eg, mustard.
