Muscle fibre
- Each muscle fibre is covered by a plasma membrane, known as sarcolemma.
- Muscle fibre is a syncytium (multinucleated condition) and is having cytoplasm (sarcoplasm), endoplasmic reticulum (sarcoplasmic reticulum - store house of calcium ions) and a large number of parallely arranged filaments in the sarcoplasm - myofilaments or myofibrils.
