Amylose is a polysaccharide which is formed by polymerisation of large number of monosaccharide monomers. Amylose is a constituent of starch and consists of linear chains of between $100$ and $1000$ linked glucose molecules. The right end of a polysaccharide is reducing end while the left end is named as non-reducing end. The chains may be branched or unbranched.
