Here, $V_{L}=V_{C}$
But in circuit they are opposite in phase so, they will cancel each other.
Resultant potential difference
$=$ applied potential difference
$=100$ volt
$Z=\sqrt{R^{2}+\left(X_{L}-X_{C}\right)^{2}}$
$=\sqrt{R^{2}+0} . $
$\left(\because X_{L}=X_{C}\right)$
$\therefore Z=R$
$\therefore I_{\text{rms}}=\frac{V_{\text{rms}}}{Z}=\frac{V_{\text{rms}}}{R}=\frac{100}{50}$
$=2 \,amp$
