Q.
In the Rutherford experiment, $\alpha$-particles are scattered from a nucleus as shown. Out of the four paths, which path is not possible?
AIEEEAIEEE 2012Atoms
Solution:
As $\alpha$-particles are doubly ionised helium $He^{++}$ i.e. Positively charged and nucleus is also positively charged and we know that like charges repel each other.
