Q. In the measurement of mass and speed, the percentage errors are $2\%$ and $3\%$ respectively. From the obtained mass and speed, find the maximum error in the estimation of the kinetic energy.

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020

Solution:

Kinetic energy is given as $KE=\frac{1}{2}mv^{2}$
So, percentage error in kinetic energy will be given as $\%errorinmass+2\times \%errorinvelocity$ $=2+2\times 3=8\%$
