Q. In the given cell representation $Zn\left|\right.Zn^{2 +}\left|\right.\left|\right.Cu^{2 +}\left|\right.Cu,$ which is the negative electrode?

Solution:

In the cell $Zn\left|\right.Zn^{2 +}\left|\right.\left|\right.Cu^{2 +}\left|\right.Cu$ the negative electrode (anode) is $\text{Zn}$ . In electrochemical cell representation anode is always written on left side while cathode on right side.
