Q. In the circuit shown in figure, a potential difference of $60 \,V$ is applied across $A B .$ The potential difference between the points $M$ and $N$ isPhysics Question Image

Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance

Solution:

Let $Q$ amount of charge flows through the $M N$ branch.
$V=60 \,V =\frac{Q}{2 C}+\frac{Q}{C}+\frac{Q}{2 C}=2 \frac{Q}{C} $ or
$ Q=30 C$
Potential difference between $M$ and $N$
$=\frac{Q}{C}=\frac{30 C}{C} V =30 \,V$
