Q.
In the case of vibration of closed end organ pipe in fundamental mode of vibration, the pressure is maximum at
Oscillations
Solution:
In the case of vibration of closed end organ pipe in fundamental mode of vibration, the wave is reflected from the closed end and the direction of motion of particles changes, hence displacement at closed end is zero.
Thus a node is formed at closed end and an anti-node is formed at open end (due to maximum displacement of particles).
As the pressure is maximum at nodes as compared to other points hence, in the case of vibration of closed end organ pipe in fundamental mode of vibration, the pressure is maximum at closed end.
