Q. In the above question, is the acceleration vector a constant vector and what is its magnitude?

System of Particles and Rotational Motion

Solution:

The acceleration is directed towards the centre of circle. Since this direction changes continuously, acceleration here is not a constant vector. However, the magnitude of acceleration is constant.
$a=\omega^{2} \cdot R=\left(0.44 s ^{-1}\right)^{2} \cdot(12 cm )=2.3 \,cm \,s ^{-2}$
