Solution:

Silica is another name for the chemical compound composed of silicon and oxygen with the chemical formula $SiO_{2}$ . In this silicon atom shows tetrahedral coordination, with four oxygen atoms surrounding a central silicon atom and each oxygen atom to two silicon atoms. It forms three dimensional network solids in which each silicon atom is covalently bonded in a tetrahedral manner to four oxygen atoms.
