NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020

Solution:

Gene expression is regulated at various levels. Gene expression basically refers to the expression of a gene due to the formation of a polypeptide. Gene regulation is an important part of the developmental procedure and is needed to maintain the constant condition of the cell.
It is a metabolic, physiological, or environmental condition that regulates the expression of genes.
The rate of transcriptional initiation is the predominant site for control of expression of genes in the prokaryotes. In a transcription unit, the activity of DNA dependent RNA polymerase at a given promoter is regulated by association and interaction with certain regulator proteins, which affects its ability to recognize start sites. These regulatory proteins can act both activators (positively) and repressors (negatively). The functioning of the operator depends upon the protein products.
