Solution:

Autonomic nervous system automatically regulates the activities of smooth muscles, cardiac muscles and glands. This co-ordination is involuntary. Autonomic nervous system consist of two division ; (i) Sympathetic ANS: It shows sympathy i.e., generally increase the function and expanditure of energy takes place. Preganglionic nerve secretes acetyl choline and postganglionic nerve secrete "sympathatin" (nor epinephrine). (ii) Parasympathetic ANS: It provides relaxation, comfort, pleasure at the time of rest and conservation of energy takes place. Postganglionic nerve secretes acetylcholin. Serotonin is a vasoconstrictor, secreted from mast cells.
