Solution:
Blister copper contain $98\, Cu$ and $2$ impurities. Blister $Cu$ is heated in the presence of air in a reverberatory furnace. Molten metal is now stirred with green wood poles. The hydrocarbons liberated from green wood poles reduce $C u_{2} O$ into $C u$. Copper thus obtained is $99.5$ pure.
