Excretory Products and their Elimination
Solution:
In mammalian kidney, the outer region is called renal cortex and inner region is called renal medulla. The medulla is subdivided into $15$ or $16$ conical masses, the renal pyramids, each having broad base toward the cortex and narrow end, called renal papilla, towards the pelvis. Between the pyramids, the cortex extends into the medulla as renal columns of Bertin.
