Q. In lactic acid fermentation, the number of $ATP$ formed by the oxidation of $NADH$ is

Solution:

Lactic acid fermentation occurs in lactic acid bacteria, some fungi and muscles. NADH produced during glycolysis is often used up. ATP formation does not occur during regeneration of $ NAD^{+} $ . So, it does not produce ATP unlike in aerobic respiration.
