Q. In how many ways can a bowler take four wickets in a single $6$-ball over ?

Permutations and Combinations

Solution:

There are $6$ balls in one over and $4$ wickets are to be taken.
So, $4$ balls are to succeed. This can be done in ${ }^{6} C _{4}$ ways.
$\Rightarrow $ Required number of ways
$={ }^{6} C _{4}=\frac{6 !}{4 ! 2 !}$
$=\frac{6 \times 5}{2}=15$
