Solution:

Given, $x_{2}=27.4 \, m , x_{1}=10\, m , t_{2}=7\, s$ and $t_{1}=5 \, s$.
Average velocity between $5\, s$ and $7 \, s$ is
$\bar{v}=\frac{x_{2}-x_{1}}{t_{2}-t_{1}}$
$=\frac{27.4-10}{7-5}=\frac{17.4}{2}=8.7 \, ms ^{-1}$
