In eukaryotes, there are 3 types of DNA dependent RNA polymerases
RNA polymerase $I:$ Transcribes rRNA (28S, 18S, 5.8S)
RNA polymerase $II:$ Transcribes hnRNA (heterogeneous nuclear RNA) a precursor of mRNA
RNA polymerase $III:$ Transcribes tRNA, 5S rRNA & snRNAs (small nuclear RNAs).
